There’s a wild mushroom that tastes like chicken

Laetiporus is a type of edible mushroom that grows in many areas of the world. It is also known as "sulphur shelf," "chicken of the woods," and "the chicken mushroom" because many people think that it tastes similar to chicken.
The mushroom grows in large brackets made up of 2-10 inch wide shelves. These brackets can grow very large with some reaching nearly 100 pounds.

It is usually found on the wounds of oak trees but has also been known to grown on sweet chestnut, yew, eucalyptus and willow trees. It can be cooked in many of the same ways that chicken can be prepared.
It can even be substituted for chicken in a vegetarian diet. It can also be frozen for long periods of time and still retain its edibility. In some parts of North America and Germany, the "chicken mushroom" is considered a delicacy.
